Bench-built furniture, one piece at a time
We are a two-person shop working in reclaimed cedar, ash and white oak. Everything is cut, joined and finished by hand in a rented bay on the east side of the river.

Staked legs, oil finish. Made in pairs for a bakery on Alder Street.

The shop
Most of our lumber comes from fences and decks pulled down within a few miles of here. It is slow material to work with: nails, grit, the occasional staple. It also has a colour you cannot buy new, so we keep at it.
Commissions run six to ten weeks depending on the season. We take a handful at a time.
